The Nation’s Fire Marshals Provide Guidance Dealing with Fire Inspections and Consumer Fireworks

The National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) recently released a practical guide to assist local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) in the inspection of consumer fireworks retail establishments.  This guidance document was developed as a follow-up to the 2019 NASFM and FM Global fire test project that evaluated safety practices previously included in NFPA 1124.

This guidance document, intended to advance safety, is the result of the work of subject matter experts (SMEs) from various members of the fireworks industry, state fire marshals, trade associations, emergency responders, and regulators.
