The Indiana State Fire Marshal and his team, along with a crack team of ATF special agents, endured subzero temps to learn how to identify illegal explosives disguised as consumer fireworks. This portion of AFSL’s Fireworks Regulatory Compliance Training focuses on how to safely extract the pyrotechnic composition from a fireworks device, sort and identify the contents, and weigh the various charges (e.g., lift, report, break) to identify illegal fireworks. The information gathered is used to build a case against those that smuggle illegal fireworks into the US and sell them to American Consumers.
